I have to disagree with you about Coldplay's latest cd.
Great to sleep by- I couldn't even get to the end.
If I want to be that depressed I'll pull out my Morrissey Cd's.
have been a fan of both.
but oasis cd is deeply disappointing...(i disagreed with critics on their recent releases..thought they were good).
coldplay i also disagreed about...thought their last one was not as good as the first.

mine was a short-sleeved 'raver' t-shirt with a hood i wore when i was 13. it was a orange, green and yellow aztec pattern.
for a few months i thought i looked cool.
I cut up all my sweatshirts like the girl from flashdance.....sheesh!!!
Also a leopard print vest that I wore with cowboy boots.
Those jeans from the 80's that were pedal pushers and had little zippers and bows on the back...
Hurache sandals...
WG - a complete child of the 80's who had big band hair to match!
for example: we had a 'faithfull' brother getting older and confused.
when something did not really went as he liked it (didn't get the answer etc) he shouted very loudly 'god doom me in the hell!
one time i had to do the closing prayer on the midweek meeting.
This one is kind of sad.
Our nephew is developmentally disabled and we took him with us to a meeting and he held up his hand to answer almost everytime but his answers were not really that relevant to the bookstudy although he thought they were.
After the second time the bookstudy conductor just ignored him even if his was the only hand up...this study leader liked to toss out extra questions because he felt he was quite a bible scholar...
Anyway.
Our nephew started crying really loudly and moaning about how was he ever going to get to Bethel if he wasn't allowed to answer the questions and why won't the brother call on him. He was sobbing.
My husband had to take him to the back of the hall and then outside until he calmed down.
We never took him to a meeting again and for me it also opened my eyes about how Jehovahs wonderful people treat disabled ones. It made me really angry.
what would you do if you knew someone had no respect for you and only associates with you coz they have to????
for months i couldnt understand why this particular person said things to me and acted a certain way to me and it only just hit me this weekend that this person actually just doesnt respect me, doesnt respect my feelings, my thoughts nothing.
and only associates with me coz she has to.
Es,
This sounds exactly like a few of my sister in laws. They say little jabs and are mean and spiteful people. They will even walk into a room and pointedly ignore me.
For some reason they think I am a bad person when in fact they are just being stuck up ill mannered pigs.
I don't put up with it and neither should you.
I know I am a good and kind person and the fact that people who are nasty don't like me or you is not a reflection on us...but in fact a reflection on them.
Just my thoughts,
WG
this week i had the priviledge of getting together with some ex-jw's on 2 different occasions.
during the week a friend that i know from email and an ex-jw support email group came to my area for a work conference.
it was so great to finally meet her and talk.
Thank you Es.
It's hard because we were truly best friends and we are still best friends but it feels as though there is this thing between us and I hate that.

Thank you Hubert,
I will get that book. Any additional proof is always good. I never know what will be the thing to free his mind from his JW upbringing.

Hi KLS,
If he went back I would leave him. I know it - I could not live with those peoples influence in my life ever again. The poison that is prevalent in those KH's is so toxic to a healthy family relationship.
I don't want to be told to beat my child, when I can buy a turkey and study the same books over and over and try to find something interesting in them when in fact they are as bland as the unleavened bread they pass around at the memorials.
I would never be a good dubette. I wasn't created to follow the lemming in front of me over the cliff.
Thank you for taking the time to write.

Thank you Tetrapod.
I am sorry you are in the same boat as the rest of us married to someone in the Troof.
As I have said over and over its ridiculous that a cult...oops, religion....ha ha that is supposedly receiving Jehovahs blessing and guidance causes so many problems in the family and between 2 people who love eachother.
If it truly was from God...wouldn't people be happy?

Thank you Netty,
I am not going to give up. We have a 10 month old and a 5 year old. He is a fabulous father and despite everything my best friend. And I love him.
I will keep planting the seeds and hope more little doubts sprout.

Thanks Listener!
I hope your wife will one day leave the Troof. It's very sad how this stupid religion puts divisions between people who love eachother.
I have read Steve Hassan's book and also CofC and In Search of Christian Freedom...unfortunately my husband is completely closed down to them.
He will look at websites here and there and then that will set him off disputing things...unless of course he can't then he just walks off and stews.
